To support our workforce, we offer a wide variety of health, life and other insurance benefits that allow employees to choose the coverage best suited to their and their families’ needs.
BI&A offers several options for medical coverage to allow employees to choose the plan that meets their needs. These choices include either a traditional medical plan or a high-deductible plan with a health savings account option. All medical plans include:
- Coverage for certain preventive care services, such as annual physicals and well-baby care.
- Coverage for doctor visits, surgery and hospital care.
- Vision coverage for routine eye examinations, glasses and contacts.
- Prescription drug coverage, including retail and mail-order options.
- Coverage for mental health and substance abuse services.
BI&A offers dental coverage to help employees and their families pay for dental care and orthodontia services.
Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
To protect employees and their families in the event of death or serious injury, BI&A automatically provides basic life and basic AD&D. Some employees also have the option to purchase additional life insurance if it meets their needs.
Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Insurance
Employees automatically receive basic short-term and have the option to purchase long-term disability insurance
Flexible Spending Accounts
BI&A offers a health care flexible spending account and a dependent care flexible spending account to allow individuals to pay for eligible health care expenses (including many over-the-counter medications) and dependent care expenses (including child and elder care) on a pretax basis, which helps reduce income taxes.
BI&A helps employees plan for their future by offering a competitive retirement benefit program to supplement Social Security benefits and personal savings. Eligible employees will be automatically enrolled in the BI&A plan for purposes of receiving company contributions. BI&A offers a 401(k) plan with a non-contributory company contribution. An eligible employee is not required to make any contributions in order to receive the company contribution.
Paid Time off
Employees accrue personal leave annually which can be used for vacation, personal holidays and for family or personal illness. Unused leave is cumulative.
BI&A provides paid time off for 10 standard holidays. All BI&A’s holidays are floating holidays, enabling employees to perform work during one of the Company’s observed holidays and take paid time off at a day of their choice. Floating holiday time can be used for such needs as religious holidays, birthday, special event, or any other reason that an employee chooses.
Leave With Pay
Employees receive time off with pay for jury duty and temporary military service.
